Things We Do Over the years we have experienced products and practices that work very well, and are committed to continuing their use. The Following is a brief listing of some of these. We Cob Blast!.........cob blasting is less abrasive than sand, is biodegradable, and does not embed the logs with material to hamper any future repairs. We use Borate Salts......Penetreat is applied in all log repair areas as an insect and fungus inhibitor. Cobra/Impel rods are installed as needed during the repair/replacement phase. They are compressed Borate salts (they almost look like green glass) that dissolve into the wood when the moisture content of the wood reaches 20% We use Penetrating, oil based stains.......these do not encase the log in a hard finish, they allow the wood to breath, and they penetrate into the log. We repair wood with wood.....we remove decay and replace it with good solid wood. We communicate..........as the repair job progresses, there may be new developments, we talk to our customers and keep them up to date on all aspects of the repair job. |
