Chain Saw Carving
Over the years we have seen things that we feel are not really the best for the average log home. When the majority of our business is the result of a certain type of product or practice, we will discourage their use.

There are always exceptions, but we have seen enough problems with them that we are convinced avoiding them is best. We will not conduct any repairs that we feel may compromise your investment.

We do not Sand Blast......it can be too abrasive, and it will leave sand embedded in the logs making future repairs more difficult and costly.

We do not pressure wash......nothing is gained by forcing water into a structure that you work so hard at keeping water out of. It goes into cracks and joints much deeper than it should and can take months to dry out. (Please see our cob blasting page if you have not already)

We do not use Hard Film creating Finishes.......paint and some stains do not allow the wood to breath, when (not if) the finish developes cracks it will allow water into the log but not back out.

We will not "just cover it up".......hiding even a small amount of decay not only compromises your cabin, but our reputation as well.
